i couldn't wait to unpack it. my new lens, a big lens, a professional telefoto lens. i started this journey to capture moments that go quickly. this moment was fun. pure and simple, a couple of friends, a great sunrise, some surf and my anxious excitement. i feel my surf photography needs a lot of work, so know that i still have so much to learn. study, study, study. i might be out there with a toddler or a kid or two, but i want to keep on this trail because at the end of the day, i see beauty and i want to share it. i need to study the best photographers, study the light, the ocean, the surfers movement and capture what i love most about this particular craft: getting outside and enjoying the ocean. of course we want perfect waves and amazing skills to follow, but in the end its just enjoying mother natures best. i don't know any of the moves names, but what i do know is these guys can carve great lines. my favorite part is at the end of the ride when you can launch yourself over the top of the wave. thats all i want to learn to do. raise kids, study, shoot, surf, study, shoot, surf, raise kids, surf.
every wave is different, at any given spot, every day, how could you get bored of that? join me.
